Most tourist visa refusals we see from Bangladesh are not about money. They are about a file that does not tell one clear, believable story: who you are, why you are going, and why you will come home.

"Difficulty" here is our own reading of the files we handle, not an official rating. A strong file can succeed anywhere; a weak one can fail even for Malaysia.

The five destinations at a glance

Malta

Valletta, Malta. A Schengen visa — apply here only if Malta is your main destination.

Italy

Rome, Italy. Same Schengen visa as Malta, applied through the visa centre in Dhaka.

United Kingdom

Tower Bridge over the River Thames, London
London, UK. The Standard Visitor visa: online form first, then biometrics.

Malaysia

The documents almost every embassy asks for

  • A passport with enough validity beyond your return date and blank pages — old passports too, if they hold previous visas
  • A completed application form and recent photographs in the exact size the embassy specifies
  • Bank statement and solvency certificate for your own account (usually the last six months)
  • Proof of employment or business: NOC and salary slips, or trade licence and tax documents
  • Tax return / TIN certificate
  • Travel insurance — mandatory for Schengen, with the minimum cover the rules set
  • Itinerary, hotel booking and flight reservation that match your dates exactly
  • If someone else is paying: a sponsor letter, the sponsor's documents and proof of relationship

Bank statements: where most files go wrong

No embassy publishes a single "magic number" that guarantees a visa. What officers look for is whether the money is believable, yours, and consistent with your income.

Our advice is simple: keep a steady account for months before you plan a trip, let your salary or business income flow through it, and do not "park" borrowed money there.

Travel history: why your first trip matters

A passport with previous visits to countries such as Thailand, Malaysia, India, Singapore or Dubai — and on-time returns — shows an officer that you travel and come back. A completely blank passport is not a refusal reason on its own, but it puts more weight on everything else.

Common refusal reasons

  • Weak ties to Bangladesh — no clear job, business, property or family reasons to return
  • Unclear purpose of the trip — an itinerary that does not fit your profile or budget
  • Funds not proven — unexplained deposits or a balance out of line with income
  • Inconsistent information — dates, names or numbers that differ between documents
  • Fake or unverifiable documents — this can lead to a ban, not just a refusal
  • Previous refusals not disclosed

Timing tips

  • Start early. Schengen appointments in Dhaka can be hard to get in peak season (summer and Eid holidays). Plan weeks, sometimes months, ahead.
  • Don't buy non-refundable tickets before the visa is issued — use a reservation.
  • Check the official processing time on the embassy or visa centre website at the time you apply; it changes with season and workload.
  • Make sure your dates line up — insurance, hotel, flights and leave letter should all cover the same period.

How Eduvisa can help

We are best known for student visas, but tourist files use the same skills: reading your profile honestly, telling you which destination is realistic right now, checking that every document supports the same story, and flagging problems before an officer does. We will never promise a visa — no one honestly can — but we will tell you where your file stands.
